When will the first pilot sites begin implementation?

Current projections are for pilot sites to begin implementation of the PATH EHR solution in 2026. 

What training will be provided for the PATH EHR solution?

Comprehensive and timely training will be provided to users of PATH EHR to ensure that they are optimally prepared when the system goes live at their site.

What guidance will the IHS provide for facilities about resource readiness and preparation for implementing the PATH EHR solution?

The IHS is developing various readiness and implementation guides for facilities that will include resource considerations and expectations for facilities in preparing for PATH EHR implementation. These resource expectations will include areas such as staffing, hardware equipment, and network capabilities. The IHS, in partnership with our contract resources, will conduct assessments for site readiness and work with facilities to ensure organizational readiness before site implementation, including providing detailed spec sheets for technical requirements.

How will patient data be protected?  

The IHS will protect patient data with a robust security framework that includes storing all information in a centralized database. We adhere to legal guidelines to ensure the accuracy and privacy of patient data, safeguarding it from unauthorized access and maintaining its integrity. This approach helps keep patient information secure and confidential.
