Memorandum of Understanding between the Indian Health Service and the Department of Veterans Affairs
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Indian Health Service (IHS) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is to establish coordination, collaboration, and resource sharing between the IHS and VA, to improve the health status of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Veterans, and to foster an environment that brings together the strengths and expertise of each organization, to actively improve the care and services provided.
National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention
The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention , a national public-private partnership that advances the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, created the AI/AN Task Force in 2011. The AI/AN Task Force supports suicide prevention efforts in native communities nationwide.
