Wewoka Indian Health Center
The Wewoka Indian Health Center is a small rural Joint Commission accredited ambulatory health center. The center employs three physicians and two family nurse practitioners.
The clinic renders outpatient services in general medicine, medical imaging (including onsite mammography), audiology, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, asthma clinic, counseling for emotional problems, and nutrition counseling.
We offer an evidenced based wound care clinic and have many advanced technologies available for our patients. In house services include ultrasound, orthopedics, nephrology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and psychiatry.
The Community Health Department operates several clinics as well as numerous outreach programs with a focus on education. Staff includes a Health Educator, Program Assistant, DM Nurse Educator, Dietician, 2 Exercise Specialists, and 2 Public Health Nurses who work closely with the medical staff to offer a team approach to disease prevention, management and treatment.
The Pharmacy Department is staffed with 5 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians and offers an anticoagulation clinic. This referral based clinic manages all of the clinic's patients that require anticoagulation therapy and is nationally certified.
The Dental Department is staffed with 5 dentists including a pediatric dentist, 7 dental assistants, and a receptionist. We offer pediatric oral surgeries which are performed at Holdenville Hospital and offer crown technologiesto our patients. Two contracted dental hygienists provide full time coverage for patients requiring this service.
