IHS Welcomes Dr. Lisa Majewski as Director, Office of Quality
The Indian Health Service is pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa Majewski has been elevated to the level of Senior Executive Service. This is a tremendous accomplishment and supports our efforts to empower and strengthen leadership at every level across the Indian health system.
Dr. Majewski has been selected as the permanent director for the IHS Office of Quality. An enrolled member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, Dr. Majewski brings proven leadership and a wealth of knowledge and experience to this critical role. She joined the IHS in 2016 as the supervisory clinical nurse in the Portland Area at the Warm Springs Service Unit.
In 2018, Dr. Majewski transitioned to the newly formed IHS Headquarters Office of Quality as the quality assurance coordinator. Since 2021, she has served as the associate director for Quality Assurance and Patient Safety. She has more than 34 years of experience as a registered nurse, with her professional nursing career including leadership and staff roles in emergency, cardiac, and critical nursing in public and university settings. Dr. Majewski also served as a nursing faculty member at the John A. Logan College Nursing Program in Carterville, Illinois.
Dr. Lisa Majewski is dedicated to building a highly reliable health system that emphasizes patient safety and quality care. Please join me in welcoming her to the new position!
