National Breastfeeding Month
Each year in August, the IHS recognizes National Breastfeeding Month to promote the benefits of breastfeeding and build a public platform of support for babies, parents, families and communities. This year’s theme is “Together We Do Great Things!” This theme serves as a reminder of the importance of building partnerships for better health outcomes.
Please join the IHS Division of Nursing Services, this month and every month, in raising awareness of the unique needs of breastfeeding families and determining how we can best partner with patients, providers and communities to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indian and Alaska Natives to the highest level.
