November is National Diabetes Awareness Month
Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. The combined efforts of clinicians and the Special Diabetes Program for Indians grantees across the country have produced remarkable improvements in clinical outcomes for American Indian and Alaska Native people with diabetes over the last 20 years. Although diabetes has no cure, you can take steps to manage your diabetes and stay healthy.
