Trauma Informed Care Mandatory Training
IHS Mandatory Annual Training: Overview of Trauma-Informed Care and Historical Trauma Guidance:
To support the organizational transformation to Trauma Informed Care, all IHS employees, contractors, and volunteers are required to complete the two-hour "Overview of Trauma-Informed Care and Historical Trauma" training course.
If you are: a federal employee, you must complete the training on the HHS Learning Portal (LMS).
If you are: an IHS contractor or volunteer, you must access the training on the IHS website.
After completing the training, please email your supervisor for a record of completion.
Additional Training
IHS has partnered with the University of New Mexico and Maria Yellow Horse Brave Heart to create several trainings on historical trauma and trauma informed care. The on-demand, self-paced trainings are free and open to the public, and include continuing education credits:
