Transmittal Notice 25-03

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 8, Chapter 17, “Agency-Issued Cellular/Wireless and Satellite Services and Associated Service Enabling Devices,” Indian Health Manual (IHM).  This chapter establishes the Indian Health Service (IHS) policy and procedures for Agency-issued cellular/wireless and satellite services and the associated service-enabling devices (SEDs) such as mobile phones, satellite phones, hotspot devices, and cellular/wireless connected tablets.  These services are provided to IHS users with a justified business reason supporting the performance of IHS work-related duties.  This chapter also standardizes the process for addressing the misuse of mobile services and devices.

MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:

Part 8, Chapter 17, “Agency-Issued Mobile Devices Including Cellular Telephones, Smartphones, and Tablets,” IHM, dated December 12, 2016.

MANUAL MAINTENANCE:

Remove Part 8, Chapter 17, “Agency-Issued Mobile Devices Including Cellular Telephones, Smartphones, and Tablets,” IHM, dated December 12, 2016, in its entirety and insert the attached copy of Part 8, Chapter 17, “Agency-Issued Cellular/Wireless and Satellite Services and Associated Service Enabling Devices,” IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents in its place.

Log and file this TN in sequential order.
