Transmittal Notice 25-01
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 43, “Indian Health Service Safety Tracking and Response (I-STAR) Policy,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). The purpose of this chapter is to establish a systematic, organizational, and enterprise-wide culture of safety that aims to identify system improvements necessary to protect patients, visitors, personnel, and facilities, creating an environment in which potential problems are anticipated, detected early, and a response is provided to prevent unintended consequences and to create a highly reliable system of care.
