BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders and Community Representatives,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter is revised in its entirety. The purpose of this chapter is to establish requirements for the development of local policies and procedures for Indian Health Service (IHS) operated pharmacies to provide naloxone to first responders and community representatives serving in Tribal communities.

MANUAL MAINTENANCE:
Remove Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders and Community Representatives,” IHM, dated October 23, 2020 in its entirety and discard. Insert the attached copy of revised Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders and Community Representatives,” IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents, in its place.
Log and file this TN in sequential order.
