BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 12, “Health Education,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter is revised in its entirety. The purpose of this chapter is to establish goals, objectives, responsibilities, and guidelines for Indian Health Service (IHS) Community and Public Health Education activities with recommendations for Tribal and Urban Indian communities.

MANUAL MAINTENANCE:
Remove Part 3, Chapter 12, “Health Education,” IHM, dated October 6, 1980 in its entirety and discard. Insert the attached copy of revised Part 2, Chapter 12, “Health Education,” IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents, in its place.
Log and file this TN in sequential order.
