BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 42, “Patient Safety Policy,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter establishes the program policies, procedures, and responsibilities required for ensuring a comprehensive systems-based Patient Safety program exists in all Indian Health Service (IHS) health care facilities.
