BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 33, “Infection Control and Prevention, “Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter establishes the program policies, procedures, and responsibilities required for ensuring a comprehensive Infection Control and Prevention (ICP) program exists in all Indian Health Service (IHS) health care facilities and Service Units. An ICP program is required to meet and maintain readiness with applicable health care accreditation standards.
