Transmittal Notice 23-10

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this chapter is to establish information technology system identification and authentication (IA) policies and procedures, consistent with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and guidelines. The IA procedures provided in this policy help minimize vulnerabilities in the Indian Health Service data and information systems by controlling access to such data and systems to protect them against associated risks related to unintended access by unauthorized users.
