BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 39, “Antimicrobial Stewardship Program,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). The purpose of this chapter is to establish multidisciplinary guidelines for the development of local policies and procedures for Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities to provide antimicrobial stewardship to protect patient safety and public health.
