Transmittal Notice 17-28

BACKGROUND

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice is to forward a copy of the revised Delegation of Authority (DOA), Program #3, "Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973, (Public Law 93 222)."  This DOA delegates the authority under 42 United States Code, Section 2001(b), with the consent of the Indian people served, to contract with private or other non Federal health agencies or organizations for the provisions of health services to such people on a fee for service basis or on a prepayment or other similar basis.

This DOA is reissued to reflect the changes in titles of key personnel.  The Division of Resources Access and Partnerships was elevated to an Office level, and the titles of other key positions have been added or changed.

MATERIAL TRANSMITTED

The revised DOA, Program #3, "Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 (Public Law 93 222)."

MATERIAL SUPERSEDED

DOA, Program #3, "Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 (Public Law 93 222)," dated February 24, 2006.

MANUAL MAINTENANCE

Remove and discard the current copy of DOA Program #3, "Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 (Public Law 93 222)," dated February 24, 2006, from your manual system binders.  Insert the attached copy of the revised DOA, Program #3, in its place.

Log and file this Transmittal Notice in sequential order.
