BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of Part 8, Chapter 20, "Section 508 Implementation," Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter establishes Indian Health Service (IHS) policy and implements procedures to ensure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 United States Code §794d), as amended, by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, Public Law 105-220, August 7, 1998. The IHS shall ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to the access to and use of the information and data by individuals without disabilities.
