BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of revised Part 5, Chapter 12, "Personal Property Management," Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter provides the Indian Health Service (IHS) policy, procedures, guidelines, and responsibilities for the efficient and effective management and control of personal property in support of the Personal Property Management program.

MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:
Part 5, Chapter 12, "Personal Property Management," IHM, TN 92.6 dated April 29, 1992; Special General Memorandum (SGM) 2008-03, "Responsibility for Government Property," dated November 26, 2008; and the Delegation of Authority (DOA), Administrative #5, "Personal Property Management - Reports of Survey," dated August 13, 2009.
MANUAL MAINTENANCE:
Remove and discard Part 5, Chapter 12, "Personal Property Management," IHM, dated April 29, 1992, in its entirety and insert the attached copy of revised Part 5, Chapter 12, "Personal Property Management," IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents, in its place after Part 5, Chapter 10, IHM. Log and file this TN in sequential order.
Also, remove and discard the SGM 2008-03, "Responsibility for Government Property," dated November 26, 2008, and the DOA, Administrative #5, "Personal Property Management - Reports of Survey," dated August 13, 2009.
