BACKGROUND
This is to transmit a copy of the Indian Health Manual (IHM) Part 7, Chapter 3, "Indian Preference," which establishes the Indian Health Service policy for granting Indian Preference to certain persons of Indian descent when appointments are made to vacate positions.
