BACKGROUND
This transmittal forwards the revised Indian Health Manual, (IHM) Part 5, Chapter 15, titled "Records Management Program." This chapter revises Indian Health Service (IHS) policies, requirements, and procedures of the IHS Records Management Program. It includes a comprehensive set of IHS-specific policies and procedures. Records management responsibilities for both IHS management and staff are identified and specific resource materials for use by IHS staff are also included.
