Transmittal Notice 87-05

BACKGROUND

This transmittal forwards a revision to the Indian Health Manual Part 5 Chapter 6, Supply Management - Central Operations, in reference to Sub-Section 5-6.4L(4), Receiving of Controlled Substances.  This will implement the requirement to maintain a "Register of Controlled Substances Received/Issued" as outlined in subpart 103-27.6301 of the Department Material Management Manual.

MATERIAL TRANSMITTED

Part 5 Chapter 6, Supply Management, Central Operations, Exhibit 5-6.10A(64), Register of Controlled Substances Received/Issued and Sub-Section 5-6.4L(4)c.

MATERIAL SUPERSEDED

None.

PEN AND INK CHANGE

Add the the following under Sub-Section 5-6.4L(4), Receiving of Controlled Substances.

c.  The Designated Receiving Agent is to maintain a register on all controlled substances received/issued.  The register is to be maintained in accordance with Exhibit 5-6.10A(64).

MANUAL MAINTENANCE

Post the pen and ink change to page 4-19, TN 86.4.  File Exhibit 5-6.10A(64) in proper sequence in the manual.
