Notice to Rescind IHS, IHM, Part 7, Chapter 7 "Performance Management Appraisal Program"

This notice informs the Indian Health Service (IHS) staff that Indian Health Manual (IHM), Part 7, Chapter 7, “Performance Management Appraisal Program,” dated February 13, 2017, will expire on December 31, 2022.

Effective on January 1, 2023, the IHS will follow the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Instruction 430-1, Performance Management Appraisal Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov . The current IHM, Part 7,Chapter 7, “Performance Management Appraisal Program,” and HHS Instruction 430-1,Performance Management Appraisal Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov  will be posted concurrently on the IHM web page to help ensure a smooth transition. The current IHM, Part 7, Chapter 7, “Performance Management Appraisal Program,” however, will not be used after December 31, 2022, and will be removed from the IHM web page after calendar year 2022 performance close-out on February 15, 2023. After February 15, 2023, please discard all copies of IHM, Part 7, Chapter 7, “Performance Management Appraisal Program,” at your earliest convenience.
