Overview

The RRM Business Office staffing module estimates the requirements for business manager, patient registration technician, benefits coordinator, and clerical support staff to perform patient registration and benefits coordination. The workload parameters that are the key variables in the staffing estimation are hospital admissions and Outpatient Visits (OPVs).

Services Description:

The Business Office staff performs the following activities:

  • Patient Registration
  • Benefits coordination
  • Billing and collecting fees for services rendered
  • Maintenance of third party RPMS/COTS billing packages
  • Coordination activities associated with inpatient admissions.
  • Provides UFMS support.

Staffing Criteria

All facilities
Fixed Business Manager staff of 1.0 FTE for each facility.

Fixed Patient Registration Technician staff of 1.0 FTE for each facility, plus 1.0 FTE Patient Registration Technician for every 2,000 admissions, plus 0.5 FTE Patient Registration Technician for every 10,000 OPVs above 20,000 OPVs.

Fixed Benefits Coordinator staff of 1.0 FTE for each facility plus, 1.0 FTE for every 30,000 OPVs above 10,000 OPVs.

Fixed Billing Accounts Receivable Clerk staff of 1.0 FTE each for each facility, plus1 FTE Billing Clerk/ 1 FTE Accounts Receivable for each 2,000 admissions, plus 1 FTE Billing Clerk for each 10,000 OPVs above 10,000 OPVs.

Fixed UFMS Clerk of 1.0 FTE for each facility.
