SDPI Toolkits: Diabetes Prevention and Healthy Heart
The successful outcomes of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) Diabetes Prevention and Healthy Heart Programs led to the development of toolkits to share their experiences and lessons learned. It is the hope that communities will use the toolkits to implement their own innovative strategies to reduce diabetes and CVD risk, and create healthier futures for AI/AN people.
Diabetes Prevention Curriculum: Native Lifestyle Balance Online
The online Native Lifestyle Balance is a 16–session curriculum that can be used to help your clients achieve a healthy balance of weight and physical activity. Each session includes a coaching video with participant handouts. Included in the sessions are tools for healthy eating, being active, and coping with stressful and challenging life events. Produced in 2018 by the Shiprock Diabetes Prevention Program and Shiprock Health Promotion Program.
