Division of Administrative and Emergency Services

Division of Administrative and Emergency Services (DAES) is located within the Office of Management Services at Indian Health Service (IHS) Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. The DAES mission is to support the IHS healthcare objectives by achieving administrative excellence, workforce empowerment, and effective communication administering its programs. DAES serves as the IHS liaison to the DHHS and ASPR/Secretary's Operation Center for national security events, administers the IHS programs for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), emergency management, insider threats, transit subsidies, mail, commercial printing and publishing. DAES also adminsters the Headquarters physical security program, provides facility and space management services, oversees telecommunication logistics, manages conference rooms, and issues parking permits.
