Central Interoperability Suite (CIS)
Welcome to the Central Interoperability Suite (CIS), formally known as RPMS Network, a comprehensive health IT system developed to meet Meaningful Use requirements, and is ONC certified Health IT. CIS is designed to enhance the coordination and quality of healthcare for the Native American population by providing robust services to collect, store, query, and retrieve patient summary information.
CIS comprises a suite of applications that facilitates secure access to visit data for patients, enabling secure communication and exchange of data between patients and providers, as well as between providers. CIS also supports the exchange of health information both within and outside of the Indian Health Systems. The applications included in this suite are Personal Health Record (PHR), Direct Secure Messaging (Direct), and the Four Directions Hub (4DH) with the new Patient Index and the Clinical Viewer, all working together to improve patient care and healthcare outcomes.

Benefits of the interoperability Applications
Personal Health Record
PHR empowers patients to take an active role in their healthcare through easy access to their health information.
Patients can track their medical history, medications, immunizations, and test results, leading to better health management and adherence to treatment plans.
Patients can access their health records anytime and anywhere, making it easier to share information with healthcare providers during visits or emergencies.
Improved information availability and sharing can reduce duplicate tests and procedures, leading to cost savings for both patients and healthcare systems.
With comprehensive health information at their fingertips, patients can receive more personalized and tailored healthcare recommendations from their providers.
Direct Secure Messaging
of Care
It facilitates efficient and reliable communication between healthcare providers, allowing for timely sharing of patient information and test results, leading to better coordinated and integrated patient care.
Patients can securely communicate with their healthcare providers, enhancing patient engagement and involvement in their own care.
It enables quick and secure referrals to specialists, ensuring that patients receive timely consultations and follow-up care.
Direct Secure Messaging ensures that sensitive health information is transmitted securely, reducing the risk of data breaches and unauthorized access.
By using Direct Secure Messaging, healthcare organizations can comply with legal and regulatory requirements for secure data exchange, such as HIPAA.
Direct Secure Messaging minimizes the need for paper-based communication, streamlining administrative processes and reducing the risk of lost or misfiled documents.
By reducing the reliance on traditional mail and fax, Direct Secure Messaging can lower operational costs associated with printing, mailing, and handling physical documents.
It provides a verifiable record of all communications, which can be useful for auditing purposes and ensuring accountability in patient care.
