Surveillance

Both the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquito species are associated with the spread of Zika virus. Both species are found in California.  You can learn more about the specific locations where infestations of Aedes mosquitos have been detected in the state of California by viewing the maps generated by the California Vector-borne Disease Surveillance System (CalSurv).  Maps like the one pictured below are made available at CalSurv Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov website.
