Information Systems Security Awareness (ISSA)

All IHS information system users must take annual security training in order to fulfill federal mandates and regulations.
In addition, all new users must successfully complete this course within 24 hours of onboarding.
 
Failure to complete training requirements will result in the loss of information systems access.

The Fiscal Year 2025 ISSA Training covers the following:
  • Acknowledgement and Acceptance of the IHS Rules of Behavior
  • IHS Cybersecurity Resources
  • HIPAA, HITECH, & Unauthorized Use and Data Handling
  • Phishing and Ransomware
  • Mobile Devices and AI Scams
  • Insider Threats
  • Incident Types and Incident Reporting

New IHS employees should register with their IHS email address if IHS has assigned them one. If IHS hasn't assigned you an IHS email account, you can register with a personal email address to complete this training. Once IHS has issued you an email account, please update the email address in your IHS Web Account and then confirm the update on your ISSA "My Profile" page. The FAQs link on the left of this screen provides directions on how make this change. If you need additional help changing your email address, you can contact ISSA Support.

If you do not know your IHS Web Account username or password, DO NOT create a new Web Account.

IHS has developed this training in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines on information technology security awareness and training.
