Transmittal Notice 24-05

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to forward a copy of the new Delegation of Authority (DOA), Administrative #56, “Public Law 93-638, Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, as amended section 105(l) Leasing Agreements.”  Pursuant to the Indian Health Care Improvement Act, as amended, the Indian Health Service (IHS) Director is authorized to administer programs “under which health care is provided to Indians based upon their status as Indians which are administered by the Secretary, including programs under . . . the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) . . ..” 25 U.S.C. §1661(c).  Pursuant to this authority, I hereby delegate to the Deputy Director; Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs; and Director, Office of Direct Service and Contracting Tribes, the administrative authorities relating to leasing of real property pursuant to section 105(l) of ISDEAA, codified as amended at 25 U.S.C. § 5324(l).

MATERIAL TRANSMITTED:

The new DOA, Administrative #56, “Public Law 93-638, Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, as amended section 105(l) Leasing Agreements.”

MANUAL MAINTENANCE:

Insert the attached copy of the new DOA, Administrative #56, in its place.  Log and file this TN in sequential order.
