BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 38, "Internet Eligible Controlled Substance Provider Designation," Indian Health Manual (IHM). The purpose of this new Chapter is to facilitate access to Medication Assisted Treatment using telemedicine models. This policy establishes the requirements for the Indian Health Service practitioner designation as an Internet Eligible Controlled Substance Provider in accordance with the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008.
