Transmittal Notice 18-29
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 7, "Pharmacy," Indian Health Manual (IHM). The purpose of this chapter is to update the general policy and procedures pertaining to the management of pharmacy services in the Indian Health Service. This revised chapter updates the standards for Pharmacy security, inventory, electronic medical records, and compliance with new regulations governing Pharmacy practices.

Part 3, Chapter 7, "Pharmacy" IHM
MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:
Part 3, Chapter 7, “Pharmacy,” IHM dated June 26, 1995, and Special General Memorandum 96-02, “Designation of Pharmacists as Primary Care Providers with Prescriptive Authority,” dated October 18, 1996.
MANUAL MAINTENANCE:
Remove the current copy of Part 3, Chapter 7, "Pharmacy," dated June 26, 1995 and discard. Insert the attached copy of Part 3, Chapter 7, "Pharmacy" IHM, to include the chapter Table of Contents, in its place, and remove IHS Special General Memorandum 96-02 in its entirety. Log and file this TN in sequential order.
