BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the new Part 3, Chapter 30, "Chronic Non-Cancer Pain Management," Indian Health Manual (IHM). The purpose of this chapter is to establish the requirements for the development of local policies and procedures for the management of chronic non-cancer pain among patients seeking care in Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities.

Remove the current copy of IHM 3-30, "Chronic Non-Cancer Pain Management," and discard. Insert the attached copy of IHM 3-30, "Chronic Non-Cancer Pain Management," to include the chapter Table of Contents, in its place. Log and file this TN in sequential order.
