BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 1, "Medical Credentials and Privileges Review Process," Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter updates the policy and procedures for medical staff credentialing and clinical privileging of health care providers working in Indian Health Service Facilities.

MATERIAL TRANSMITTED:
The revised Part 3, Chapter 1, "Medical Credentials and Privileges Review Process," IHM, including the Chapter Table of Contents, and Manual Exhibits.
MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:
This chapter supersedes Part 3, Chapter 1, "Medical Credentials and Privileges Review Process," IHM, TN 2006-20, dated October 6, 2006.
MANUAL MAINTENANCE:
Remove the current copies of IHM 3-1 (TN 2006-20) from your manual system binders and discard. Insert the attached copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 1, "Medical Credentials and Privileges Review Process," IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents, in its place after Part 2, Chapter 7, IHM.
Log and file this TN in sequential order.
