BACKGROUND
The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 7, Chapter 3, ?Indian Preference,? Indian Health Manual (IHM). The chapter contains the revised policy and procedures for granting Indian preference within the Indian Health Service (IHS) to certain persons of Indian descent when appointments are made to vacant positions.
